# Get Record Overview

> Everything about one Salesforce record — key fields, parents, related lists, and recent activities.

`salesforce_get_record_overview`

Returns a full picture of **one** record in a single call: labelled fields, parent records, related lists (contacts, opportunities, cases, and so on), and recent activities.

Pass a 15- or 18-character id, or a record name (add `object` if the name is ambiguous). To find several records, use [`salesforce_find_records_smart`](/connectors/Salesforce/find-records-smart).

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |

| `record` | string | Yes | A 15/18-character record id, or a name (e.g. `Edge Communications`). |
| `object` | string | No | Object label or API name. Helps when several objects share the same name. |
| `sections` | array of `"fields"` \| `"parents"` \| `"related"` \| `"activities"` | No | Sections to include. Default: all four. |
| `related_limit` | number (1–10) | No | Rows per related list and activity list. Default: `5`. |
| `response_format` | `"markdown"` \| `"json"` | No | Default: `"markdown"`. |

## Returns

A markdown briefing plus structured data with full ids and a Lightning `web_url` for the record (and related rows). Use those links verbatim.

## Example use
